Sharon Green

Sharon, aka “Boss Lady” of Garden State Highway Products, Inc., (GSHP) is the President of the company. Sharon and her husband, Bob, established the business in September of 1987. Starting 30 years ago with only 3 people, GSHP now employs a large group of people whom she fondly labels her Garden State family!

Sharon graduated Cumberland County College with an Associate’s Degree in Business. After college, she went to work for Willow Branch Industries/Signs of Safety starting out as the traffic sign silk screen maker. She then moved into the position of making all the artwork and graphics for the signs while learning the skills and intricacies of the traffic sign and safety industry. Utilizing this knowledge along with her business degree, Sharon was promoted by Signs of Safety to Office Manager. When the company was purchased by J. Fletcher Creamer & Son and relocated to North Jersey, Sharon and her husband, Bob, were both invited to continue their employment and their expanding roles with the new ownership. They remained at Signs of Safety’s Edgewater, NJ facility for approximately six years. In 1987, Sharon and her husband decided to relocate home and to open up Garden State Highway Products, Inc. The rest is history!

Sharon likes to fish, kayak, and swim but she mostly enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoys spending time with her dog “Champ” with whom she shares joint custody of with her son Robert!

Vice President

Bob Green

Bob is a very hard-working, goal oriented individual who, after graduating high school, went to work for Wheaton Tubing. After several years, he decided to leave Wheaton Tubing to work for a startup traffic sign company, Willow Branch Industries, which was later renamed Signs of Safety. He began his employment for the company in the barricade division building barricades and he subsequently worked his way up to manager of the traffic sign and barricade shop. In 1982, the company was sold to J. Fletcher Creamer & Son and re-located to Edgewater, NJ. Along with Sharon, his wife, who also worked at Signs of Safety, Bob made the move to North Jersey to manage the sign company. In 1987, after six years of managing and working for Signs of Safety, taking their traffic sign and safety experience with them, Sharon and Bob decided to relocate back to their home town of Millville, New Jersey to open Garden State Highway Products, Inc. Bob is the Vice President of GSHP, Inc. which is now celebrating 30 years in business!

Bob enjoys captaining his boat, fishing, paddle boarding, playing a good round of golf, and spending time with his friends and family at the shore. He also enjoys the beautiful sunsets over the back bays!

Robert Green

Robert has been working with GSHP for the past six years, but he has been around the traffic safety industry his entire life. Robert’s parents, Sharon and Bob Green, founded GSHP, Inc. in 1987, so he became very familiar with the industry at a very young age. After receiving his Bachelor’s Degree in Communication with a Minor in Business from Auburn University in Alabama, Robert was given the opportunity to work for Ron Jaworski Management with a focus on productions for NFL Films and ESPN. He also spent time working with the Personnel Department of the Philadelphia Soul AFL team, which is partially owned by Jaworski.

Although the sports industry was a dream field of Robert’s in which to work, deep down Robert always knew that his place was to follow in his parents’ footsteps at GSHP, Inc. His primary goal is to continually increase the overall service level of Garden State, while finding new strategies to increase the company’s functionality and marketability. Outside of the office, Robert loves to spend his time at the shore or on the golf course. He also enjoys traveling the world to learn about other cultures, and truly believes that “the beauty of the world lies in the diversity of its people.”

Inside Account Executive

Stacia Green

Stacia is the daughter of Sharon and Bob Green and an Inside Account Executive of Garden State Hwy. Products, Inc. (GSHP). Stacia has been involved with GSHP her entire life but began “officially” working at GSHP when she was sixteen years old. She continuously strives to one day take over the business with her brother, Robert. She attended Cumberland County College and graduated with her Associates Degree in Education. She then continued her education at Rowan University.

Stacia has two beautiful little girls. She is a loving, hard working mother who is full of life and who loves to spend time with her family and friends.

Family… where life begins and love never ends.

Champion “Champ”

Little is known about the early years of Champion Green’s life and most would call it a complete mystery.  His story, as we know it, began in Auburn, AL at the Lee County Humane Society.  During his time attending college at Auburn, Robert Green spent time volunteering at the shelter.  One day, upon arriving at the shelter, Rob instantly noticed a new addition to the dog area and immediately formed a bond with this new arrival, Champ.  Questions were asked on how Champ ended up at the shelter that morning, but there were little to no answers that could be provided.  He was left outside of the shelter’s front door in a cage, where he would wait until the next morning before volunteers found him and greeted him with the extreme love and care as they do with all new intakes.  The shelter at the time was very overcrowded and room had to be made to accommodate Champ, who is a unique mix of Pitbull and Australian Kelpie.  It was obvious that he was malnourished and had been abused – he was very underweight and had a skittish temperament. When passing by Champ, most people coming through the shelter barely gave him a glance. Little did they know they were passing up on a diamond in the rough.

After spending time with Champ at the shelter, Robert knew he had to fill out adoption forms.  There was a quick scare of a positive test for heart worms, but three negative tests over the next three weeks put those worries to rest.  Right after Thanksgiving break in 2008, Robert was able to finally get Champ out of the shelter and into a new home. Champ quickly became a campus favorite, and Robert took him everywhere he could. Champ lived in Auburn with Robert until his graduation in 2011 and moved with him back to New Jersey where they both remain.

Champ was quickly put to work at GSHP, Inc. upon his arrival in New Jersey.  He has become well known for his greeting skills and he has also never been late to a meeting. On his break and lunch hour, Champ enjoys sunbathing by one of the front doors of the GSHP facility, which is how he got his nickname, “The Gatekeeper”.  Outside of work, Champ enjoys playing with his favorite ball, chasing squirrels, and snuggling up in a cozy blanket. Champ is living proof of how much joy and happiness an animal can bring to your life, and even better, your workplace!
