How are Interstate Overhead Signs Fabricated
Our large, state-of-the-art facility is stocked with equipment, inventory and experienced personnel – all of the
essential components needed to produce Interstate and Overhead Signs.
Manufacturing Interstate Overhead Signs requires specialized knowledge. These signs must be, and are produced, in accordance with state and/or federal regulations.
Raw aluminum, in the form of flat panels or in the form of 12″ x various lengths and 6″ x various lengths extruded panels, arrives in the shop. The aluminum is thoroughly cleaned before it is run through a special laminator. The laminator applies the specified grade and color of reflective sheeting. The sheeted aluminum panels are then bolted together with special hardware to build the sign panels to the required size.
FHWA specified lettering sizes dictate the demountable or direct applied copy. The completed Interstate Overhead Sign is loaded on to a custom made trailer for delivery to the customer’s site.
Garden State Highway Products, Inc. can manufacture any Interstate Overhead Sign to order. Required certifications and material samples are available on request. Blank aluminum panels, that have been chemically treated, are also available for purchase. We also stock the fasteners and hardware needed for sign attachment.
